fiberglass vs HIGH-quality polymer
Most are suprised to discover that fiberglass pools are subject to catastrophic failure and the cost to replace is astronomical.
Wonder Pool builds permanent swimming pools and thus, only uses the highest quality polymer walls.

Q: Can't I get all the same sizes of pools in fiberglass?
A: No. Fiberglass pools are shipped via the road, so the pool width can never be wider than 16'.
Any size wanted is available in a high-quality polymer wall pool.
Q: I can get all the same shapes of pools, though. Right?
A: No. That's not possible either. Due to the manufacturing process and transportation, only a few shapes are available in fiberglass.
Any shape is available in a high-quality polymer wall pool. If you can imagine it...you can have it!
Q: What happens when a fiberglass pool "floats"?
A: In certain conditions, fiberglass pools can rise out of the ground (sometimes several feet) very quickly when the water table is high. The pool's plumbing, electrical, and concrete deck will be destroyed. The fiberglass shell may also be cracked or torn, but the soil under the pool always suffers a major shift requiring excavation. The repair of the pool and construction usually totals more than having a new pool installed.
Q: Can a fiberglass wall implosion be fixed?
A: No. If the soil shifts and causes one or more walls to implode, there isn't a way to recover the pool. The pool and deck must be totally removed and the area prepared for a new pool to be built.
Q: I don't like the few solid colors available in fiberglass. What choices do I have with a high-quality polymer wall pool?
A: This is a very common concern. The modern precision made liner is the most attractive and desired pool surface by consumers. Currently we have over 40 variations and styles of extra thick vinyl liners available. Whether you like the contrast of a border or the modern look of an all over borderless pattern, we have designs for even the most discerning client.
